Visitor’s Center and Train Depot

Location: 100 N. Front Street
Hours of Operation: M-F 9am-4pm

Housed in a train depot built in 1917 (complete with a caboose), visitors can obtain free information and maps. While there, visit with our
friendly Kyle Chamber of Commerce staff. They can answer most questions about the area.

Dining Experiences

With a wide variety of restaurants, visitors can get their fill of some of the tastiest cuisine around.

Head to the big cherry pie slice in the middle of town and you’ll be standing in front of The Texas Pie Company (202 W. Center). It boasts homemade pies, casseroles, and other baked goods that represent “true southern comfort food.”

Looking for quality steaks, seafood, or pasta? Try Bordeaux’s (108 Center). This locally owned restaurant offers a gourmet experience with both traditional choices and unique one-of-a-kind items to please all taste buds.

In addition to these restaurants, you can find an eatery in Kyle to suit almost any appetite. We’ve got BBQ, handmade sandwiches, pizza,

Shopping!

If you're in the market for some imaginative gifts, unique antiques and collectibles, or just interested in seeing a sample of local artists work,
you should stop into the Arrowhead Trading Company (402 S Old Highway 81).

Kyle also boasts a fantastic Flea Market (1119 N Old Hwy 81) and several small boutique shops that sell items like flowers, bicycles, musical instruments, vehicles, and power sports.

In addition, there are a number of chain stores currently operating in Kyle, including H-E-B Plus!, Lowes, Kohl’s, Motif Furniture, and one of
the newest Target stores in the nation!

Kyle offers a variety of venues ranging from outdoor to indoor and including performances at the Hays Performing Arts Center (979 Kohler's Crossing), The Lucky Cup (108 Front), Railroad BBQ (108 E. Center) , and Milt’s BBQ (905 N Old Highway 81) among others.

Golf

Plum Creek Golf Course

Location: 750 Kohler’s Crossing

Set on over 200 acres of Texas Hill Country, the Plum Creek Golf Course includes an 18-hole championship course, 3-par executive course
and a 30-acre practice range. Designed by Roy Bechtol, this course has a unique characteristic in that no two fairways touch. In 2009,
Plum Creek completed renovation of a 10,000 square foot climate controlled clubhouse and it is now available for special events or private functions. Call 512-262-5555 to request your tee time.

Thunderhill Raceway

Location: 24801 IH 35 North

A 3/8 mile D-shaped asphalt oval track that opened its doors in April 1998 and is sanctioned by the American Speed Association (ASA Racing, asa-racing.com). The ASA Racing Events include the ASA A-Line Super Stocks, Thunder Stocks, Grand Stocks, Mini Stocks and NasKarts. Other classes and series that race at Thunderhill Raceway include the following: TSRS (Texas Super Racing Series) Late Models and Allison Legacys, Pro Modifieds, Pro Trucks, Sport Mods, Texas Pro Sedans, Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas and the Legends and Bandoleros. Texas Old Town is an event center located in the rustic beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Texas Old Town has three beautiful halls that can provide the perfect setting for your indoor or outdoor wedding, reception and/or corporate event. Other venues include Ranch Studio Estates, the Winfield Inn, the Inn Above Onion Creek, Center Street Event Center, Hays CISD Performing Arts Center and Word of Life Church.

Historical Tour

Kyle is home to many historical sites including the childhood home of Pulitzer Prize winning author Katherine Ann Porter(508 Center Street),

Steeplechase Park

Location: 1300 Lehman Rd
Steeplechase Park includes an 18 Hole Championship Disc Golf course designed by John Houck, sand volleyball, playscape, picnic areas,
and fields for football, soccer, softball and a basketball court.

Gregg-Clarke Park

Location: 1300 W Center St
Gregg-Clarke Park features the Kyle Community Pool, two playscapes, picnic areas, lighted basketball court, tennis court, a .75-mile walking trail, and fields for football, soccer, kickball and softball. Many of Kyle's community events are held here including the Kyle Fair & Music Festival, Kyle Easter Egg-Stravaganza, and Movies in the Park. There's also a covered pavilion that is available to rent for special occasions.

Waterleaf Park

Location: 600 Abundance
At more than 90-acres in East Kyle off FM 150, Waterleaf Park is the largest of the parks in Kyle. It boasts three softball fields, a soccer field,
a 1.3-mile walking trail, and a playscape.

City Square Park

Location: 101 S. Burleson
Dating back to 1880, City Square Park is the oldest park in Kyle. It features a gazebo and tree covered park right in the center of downtown
Kyle. The perfect place to relax while visiting the many shops that adorn the area.
